WHO'S WHO IN THE MENDIP MORRIS MEN
Our President is JOHN BURGESS who has been with
the club, man and boy, for the best part of forty years. He succeeds
club founder Len Luckwill, who sadly died in June 2005.
Squire CHRIS BLACKMAN took over the reins at our AGM in October 2009. His plans for the next two years are a closely guarded secret.
Immediate Past Squire CHRIS AVERY relishes his role as the vicar's husband. Lydia, his wife, is the hard-working curate of a busy rural Mendip parish.
When not standing in the terraces of Ashton Gate, avid Bristol City fan DOUG SCHOFIELD is our Bagman, and looks after the activities of the side.
Most men think Overseas Bagman BRIAN HENSHAW is
the most important man in the side. He's organised dozens of overseas trips with every
one a winner!
Our
Treasurer is expert fiddler PETE 'TOMMO' THOMPSON though he'd never
dream of fiddling the books especially as his day job is with the
Inland Revenue!
Foreman RIC BROCK takes a step in the right
direction every Monday night at practice when he drills the men in the
finer points of our dance repertoire. As a retired teacher, he stands for no nonsense and bad dancers are put in detention or made to stand in the corner!
Former Met man ALF DENHAM is our Archivist,
meticulously cataloguing our ever-increasing mounds of memorabilia,
though Hilda tries desperately to stop it filling up the spare bedroom.
Always a sartorial dresser, Ragman ANDY SIMS ensures the men are immaculately turned out at all times.
